Bio:
Sandra Fetterman, was born and raised in Merida, Yucatan Mexico. She has lived in Louisiana for the past nine years. Sandra currently holds a degree in English Language Teaching, from the Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan. She also has attained a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction English as a Second Language from LSUS. She is currently employed as a Spanish teacher at North DeSoto High School.

Abstract:
Strategies for Successful L2 Reading is a professional learning workshop for world language teachers focused on strengthening reading comprehension in the second language classroom. Participants will explore strategies such as using context clues, identifying main ideas, building vocabulary, and reading for meaning without translating every word. Through collaborative activities and practical classroom applications, teachers will gain tools to help learners become more confident, strategic, and independent readers in the target language.
